I guess I'm in the market for a new (non-Creative) mp3 player. I am still a fan of creative hardware but quite dissapointed how they treated existing owners.

MS OS is like a snake eating its tail. I also use the 3rd party ‘notmad’ product by ‘redchairsoftware', and it requires the creative driver to be installed and working 1st. Just remember, I am not using anything other than Creative's own software to get it to work with vista. For now i won't try Creative Mediasource (+ jukebox plugin). Bingo, Vista accepted the driver and what's more it appeared as a connected device in Computer view.
