I have been using my DXR2 decoder card and drive to this date without problems in WindowsXP. After spending years in R&D, entertainment and computer companies have developed a medium—DVD-ROM—that promises to make existing media (such as CD-ROMs and laser discs) obsolete. May useful reference The Dxr2 Board is a PCI decoder board that connects to your video card via a pass-through cable—a mixed blessing. I'm also wanting to put it in a K7VTA3 board with a amd sempron 2200+ processor.
Unfortunately, Creative doesn't offer a SCSI version of the kit, which means the DVD-ROM drive will tax the CPU.
