Creative Labs Ct7230 Driver
The official Creative Labs driver tool takes care of this for you. I down-loaded the User Guide for the PC-DVD Encore 6x Dxr3 card from Creative's excellent web-site, but this refers to a complete installation of the system. I have found complete success using "Remote Selector" ( I am using version 2.1.3). On the slot cover, the card gets really confusing. click site
This communication is necessary for proper image and video display and top performance in 3D and video games. It turns out that it is a DVD/MPEG2 Decoder. I wonder if the code for it in the kernel and Mplayer actually still works. After much searching, I have uncovered the mystery that is this card.
I certainly do remember watching the MPEG-encoded videos on the Windows 95 CD show only a few frames per second on our family 486DX/2 with local bus video. Could you actually receive any feed/image using the CT7240? However, now the site goes directly to HP w/out any real informative support. The card has drivers for Win9x->WinXP (Beta driver, never finished) but you won't find them by coing to Creative, they don't acknowledge the card's existence.
