The mysqlnd section is not the same as the mysql plugin. Too bad mediawiki didn't fix is message for windows users. I made a test PHP page. The message went away (and I'm able to install) when i moved Mediawiki to /srv/http.This is likely some kind of permission thing, but I did not investigate.

It's getting the mysql module to work with php. For MySQL, compile PHP using --with-mysql, or install the mysql.so module For PostgreSQL, compile PHP using --with-pgsql, or install the pgsql.so module For MSSQL, compile PHP using --with-mssql not ready, or DIR is the MySQL base directoy
