The only possible way I can see problems with that when you have two cards of the same type installed. There is no sound chip on the motherboard but I have an NVIDIA GPU which has HDMI, so that appears as card 0; the Audigy FX appears as card 1: aplay I have a an integrated Intel soundcard, and AMD FirePro W5100 GPU with HDMI audio support, and the Soundblaster Audigy FX card that I'm trying to use.
